ORACLE Cover Reveal Mystery Tour: Amazon Voucher & Swag Up for Grabs!
Today’s the day! The day I reveal the official cover for Oracle, something I’ve been itching to do since the moment we finalised the design!
Permission to squee!
And true to the book’s genre, I’m holding a Mystery Tour to celebrate! Join in the sleuthing, and you’ll be in with the chance to win a $20 AMAZON GIFT CARD!

Imagine the books you can buy with this! Oracle, maybe?
*EDIT: To sweeten the deal, I’m also giving away 5 additional prize bundles comprising Oracle swag: bookmarks, postcards and a magnet! (You may have to be patient in receiving these prizes as I’m still waiting for the printers to get them to me!)
But first, if I keep this to myself any longer I’m going to burst! So here it is, the official cover and blurb for Oracle, courtesy of the talented people at J. Taylor Publishing:

Isn't it purty? I've got cover envy! Oh, wait, that is my cover!
BLURB
As the countdown begins, the body count rises.
With London gearing up to host the Olympics, the city doesn’t need a serial killer stalking the streets. They’ve got one anyway.
Leaving a trail of brutal and bizarre murders, the police are no closer to finding their latest murderer than Detective Inspector Kurt Lancer is in finding a solution for his daughter’s disability.
Thrust into the pressure cooker of a high profile case, the struggling single parent is wound tight as he tries to balance care of his own family with the safety of a growing population of potential next victims.
One of whom could be his own daughter.
Fingers point in every direction as the public relations nightmare grows, and Lancer’s only answer comes in the form of a single oak leaf left at each crime scene.
Oracle will be available both in print and in e-book form on July 30th, 2012!
I’m so excited!
Now, this wouldn’t be a Mystery Tour without a mystery … and a tour. 14 of my wonderful blogger buddies from around the world have agreed to publicise my official cover release on their blogs:
Here comes the mystery bit: two of these bloggers have committed heinous literary crimes! <gasp!>
Don’t blame them! After all, I am the criminal mastermind here.
So what bookish travesties have they committed?
Mystery #1: The Case of the Doctored Cover
One blogger has posted a forged version of the book cover, which is ever so slightly different from the genuine one! Can you spot the forgery?
Mystery #2: The Case of Mistaken Identity
Another blogger has posted a counterfeit blurb, one where the name of my protagonist has been changed!
The big question, of course, is…
That, my dear readers, is a job for you!
Head on over to the blogs of my fellow Mystery Tour hosts, and once you find the culprits, close the case by filing your report with the Rafflecopter authorities below!
One lucky Sherlock will win an Amazon gift card worth $20!
The contest will run till Friday 27th January, and I will announce a winner on Saturday.
So whaddaya waitin’ for? Get out that deerstalker hat, smoking pipe and magnifying glass, and start sleuthing!

Thank you, Melissa, I’m glad you liked the blurb. We worked hard on it. As for the cover, all credit goes to the talented designers at J. Taylor Publishing!
I’ve only seen a couple posts so far. I guess I’ll have to see them all to figure out the clues
……….dhole
The Mystery Tour hosts will be putting up their posts throughout the day, at different times to hit multiple tie zones. I suppose the best thing would be to pop back tomorrow when all the posts are up, and browse through them then.
*time zones, even!
Oooh, such fun, hehehehe.
I’ve played. Couldn’t resist. Have got to pop back later and find that pesky dodgy cover, though.
Loving the look of Oracle. It suits what’s inside it perfectly. SQUEEEEEE! Congrats, J.C.
Yep, I’ve only seen a few posts so far. It’s very exciting.
You may need to double check the link to Raine Thomas @ Write as Raine (USA) because I get an error (could just be me though hehe).
The cover is awesome.
Thank you! Don’t worry about Raine’s link. The post is scheduled, so once it’s up the URL should work!
This revealing across time zones thing is making me itchy with impatience!
Beautiful cover, JC! Congrats!
Thank you, Nas!
I did comment earlier but for some reason it’s not showing up. Love the cover. It’s so apt for the story and the colours are awesome. Congrats, J.C. And great fun with the mystery hunt.
Sorry about that, Julie. WordPress seemed to have decided your posts were spam. Should be sorted now!
I have to admit this is the most fun book contest I’ve taken part in!
Good going, JC, and looking forward to reading the book.
Thanks, Ted. I was hoping to create something a little different from the usual book tours, so I’m glad you liked it!
Wow! That cover is amazing! I love the blurb too, the notion of the oak leaf left behind at every crime scene raised chill bumps on my arms. Congratulations, that idea for a mystery hunt sounds really cool, too!
Thank you, Kelly, and I hope you’ll participate in the hunt.
J.C., I love, love, love you cover. It is so eye-catching, so intriguing. And to add another SO, I’m so thrilled for you.

Your cover is really nice – and currently all over the web!
Yeah … sorry about that!
You’ll be sick of seeing it soon!

This is great! How did you know I like falling leaves so much? That alone sells me.
You know, I remember a long time ago you mentioning something about a tour, but for some reason I never got back to you on it. How about I post about your cover this week? Sound good?
David, glad you liked the cover! And thank you for the kind offer! I’d be flattered, and will of course help you publicise the post!
The cover is fantastic, J.C.!!! So exciting! There’s nothing quite like seeing the cover with YOUR NAME on it, is there?
What a great idea for a blog hunt! Looks like so much fun!
Thank you, Susanna. Yes, with the official cover, my story no longer feels like just a manuscript, and is one step closer to becoming a real book! Hope you join in the blog hunt and have fun!
I’m not sure if I’ll have time to check out those blogs. I’ll try. However, in the meantime, I definitely want to congratulate you, J.C. The cover looks great and the blurb sounds very intriguing. Well done!!
-Jimmy
You still get entries without participating in the mystery hunt.
But thanks so much. I hope the story lives up to the cover!
I’m happy for you, JC! I’m going to share on Facebook.
Thank you, Theresa!
Just hope being everywhere in the blogosphere doesn’t make me spammy.
That cover is awesome!!
Thank you, Libby! I have the talented designers at my publisher to thank!
Hi JC … great blurb and cover. Look forward to the book.
Great fun!
Hi Florence, thanks for participating! But rather than posting the answers where everyone can see, you’re supposed to fill in the Rafflecopter form!
No worries, have transferred your answers, and you’re now in the draw. Thanks for playing!
Oh, I am so sorry JC … I guess you can see I don’t do this too often. Not to mention I did not do what we tell students … read the instructions before you answer );
Happens all the time. I’ve been guilty of that many times myself! Are you a teacher? Thanks for playing, and good luck!
Love the cover. Hints of a leafless tree and blood vessels.
Thank you , Joshua. And thanks for pointing out that detail. Never noticed it till now, and it does add an extra dimension of creepiness to it all!
Congratulations! I love the cover and am looking forward to buying the paper version in July.
Thank you, Sharon! Here’s hoping the story lives up to the cover and blurb!
You are so cute. Love this post! And congrats on your cover! It’s gorgeous!
Thank you, Michelle! LOL, haven’t been called cute since I was 16! Except by the hubster!
That would be my five-year-old daughter’s influence.
Oh what fun! I’ll have to roll up my sleeves and get busy checking blogs tonight!
And BTW….the cover is awesome!!
Thanks, DL! Hope you enjoy the hunt, and good luck in the contest!
Congrats JC! I’m not sure why but I can’t seem to get my comments working here. Well done on the cover!! And all the best with the comp!
Oops, sorry! Akismet has been eating some of my bona fide comments lately. Bad Akismet! *slaps wrist* Thank you for all three comments! I believe I’ve rescued them.

Bunches of stuff going on in my life, and I totally missed your cover release blog tour.
What a gorgeous cover – it’s simple yet intriguing.
Congratulations!
No problem! But there’s still time to enter the giveaway!
Stellar cover, and good idea with the interactive mystery. I tracked down the culprits (one has the same name as my sister but I won’t say another word). Glad to support a fellow writer. When you get some time, I’d love to hear what you think of my walking tour of Malacca (on my blog).
JC, hello. This is my first time on your blog. Stellar cover and a great idea to make an interactive game of it. I tracked down the culprits and one of them has the same name as my sister (I won’t say another word).
Congrats and looking forward to the book. If you get a minute, I’d love to hear what you think of my walking tour of Malacca. Do you miss KL?
Thanks for visiting! Off to take a look at your blog!
