Seeing as I introduced you all to Lancer’s brother last week, here’s a bit more from him. Lancer reacts to news that little brother Reggie has managed to hold on to his latest job–for a change:
—
His reasons for dismissal had ranged from falling asleep on the job and persistent tardiness, to being rude to clients, and in the case of one particularly short-lived appointment at the local cinema, consuming more popcorn than he sold. His tendency to start fights and to help himself to “gratuity” from the till did not help, either.
Four months without a disciplinary was a new record.
Perhaps my younger brother had finally matured.
Reggie belched, crumpled the beer can in his meaty fist, and dropped it onto the floor.
Then again, probably not.

Great SHOW of a character!
I love seeing Reggie through Lancer’s eyes, the line that made me hehehehe was the part where he said Reggie ate more popcorn than he sold. ;D Excellent way to show us a lot of Reggie’s life in a little bit of space. I really enjoyed this six, nice! ^_^
LOL, I had the same thought before I read the last line, great 6! The pacing was perfect to my ear…
Excellent six! Very descriptive….he reminds me of my brother in law
Wahaha! Definitely not!
Great six!
It’s okay, Lancer. We all have familty memebers like that!
Bet the brother has a reason for holding onto his current postion. Your humour is always right on the mark
Great last line!! Great six!
I’m nearly 50% through Oracle and right now Reggie is not my favorite guy.
I’m still hoping he redeems himself because like his brother I had really hoped he’d changed and all those images of him as a dimply baby in his brother’s memory made me really hope for him. I still hope this is the case. Lancer on the other hand, he gets a big thumbs up.
I enjoyed this, and Claire’s comment just makes me even more intrigued
I always enjoy your 6 sentences, J.C.!
