Weekly Round-Up

Weekly Round-Up

Yee-haw! Welcome to the Weekly Round-up, where I lasso up the week’s latest news and rootin’-tootin’ literary articles on the Net!

First off, I’d like to apologise that I failed to officially announce the winner of last week’s Writer Wednesday giveaway. Saturday was busy, with extra hours at work, a birthday dinner to attend, followed by a 2-hour drive home in a mini-blizzard! Anyway, the winner of James Hutchings’s The New Death and others is…

Markus Orlyus

Congratulations! :)

Now on to the main bulletin:

Writers: want a way to up your Twitter follower numbers with people who may actually buy your book? Gary @ BubbleCow has the answer.

Interesting post by Joanna @ The Creative Penn: are there gender issues in publishing? Especially relevant to female writers in the male-dominated thriller genre.

Chuck Wendig @ Terrible Minds blogs about 25 things you should know about story structure (Warning: some strong language)

A to Z Blogging Challenge ButtonIn other news, I have taken the plunge and signed myself up for the A to Z Blogging Challenge this year! For 26 days in April, I will be posting a blog post each day centred around one of the 26 letters of the alphabet! I’ve got a rough idea of an overarcing theme, and in spite of my reservations (will I have time?) am actually quite looking forward to it!

Ooh, and look what I got in the mail this week:

Oracle postcard

ORACLE promotional postcards!

Oracle magnet

And ORACLE magnets!!

Now all I’m waiting for are the bookmarks, and I can send off the swag pack prizes I promised the winners of the Cover Reveal Mystery Tour! Sorry for the wait, guys, but you’ll be getting it soon–promise!

And if you’d like to get your hands on some printable digital goodies–bookmark, button, desktop wallpaper and more–you can find them all available for FREE download here.

I joined the A to Z Challenge too and have a theme planned as well. I hope to work on the posts soon, so I’m not overextended in April.
